Cancellation & Refund Policy
In the event that you are unable to join us the following guidelines will apply. For all courses, if you cancel or leave for any reason:
• Between 15 and 30 days prior to the course starting date, CWS will retain 25 percent of the course tuition.
• Between 7 and 14 days prior to the course starting date, CWS will retain 50 percent of the course tuition.
• Less than 8 days prior to the course starting date and once the course has begun, there will be no refunds.

If the participant has not paid in full at least 7 days prior to the course start date, or has not met the prerequisites of a particular course, and has not contacted CWS regarding options, CWS reserves the right to schedule another individual in their place without refund of tuition. In this event, the participant is responsible for any associated costs.
If for any reason CWS has to cancel a course, all deposits and course payments will be refunded in full, or, are fully transferable to another course without any processing charges. CWS reserves the right to cancel a course for any reason that it deems necessary. If a course does not meet the minimum required enrollment, that course will be cancelled and students will be given a full refund.
Wilderness First Aid Pre-Test
Participants who do not pass the open book pre-test (a minimum of 80% is required to pass) after taking the pre-test twice resulting in a failing grade will not be issued a refund, and will be required to pay the full tuition if registering for a future course.
Transfer of Registration Policy
For all courses, if you transfer course dates:
• Transfers made 30 or more days prior to the course starting date, there will be a $25 processing charge.
• Transfers made 8 to 29 days prior to the course starting date, there will be a $35 processing charge.
• Transfers made 7 days or less prior to the course starting date, regular cancellation and refund charges apply.

Course Participant and Conduct Policy
Course participants are responsible for their own well-being. This includes good health and strong physical condition, and may be required to obtain a physician's release prior to departure. Participants are expected to act in a considerate manner toward all group members and with respect. Participants are prohibited from using illegal drugs and alcohol while on CWS courses. Participants give their consent for CWS to use their photograph, likeness and/or voice to be used in its publications, including websites.
The Center for Wilderness Safety expects that all participants come prepared to put forth their best effort. Every CWS course requires participants to follow instructions, try new activities and work as part of a team. Our courses are sometimes physically, mentally and emotionally challenging and require a strong commitment from the participant. A participant will be removed from a course by a staff member it they exhibit behavior deemed inappropriate to our school’s mission and policy. The use of illegal drugs and alcohol is against Center for Wilderness Safety policy and will result in expulsion without refund.
Privacy Policy
The Center for Wilderness Safety wants to ensure that members feel comfortable and secure in their use of this website. While we make a legitimate effort to ensure your privacy and the security of any information that you provide to us, we urge you to remember that privacy and security begin with you. Once the transaction is processed, the information is overwritten in order to ensure that it will be inaccessible. The account and credit card information that you provide at the time of donation is used only to process donations and will not be disclosed, sold, traded, rented or otherwise revealed to the personnel of the Center for Wilderness Safety or any other third party without your consent.
Technical Information
An IP address is a number assigned to your computer automatically when you use the Internet. When you use the Center for Wilderness Safety website, technical information from your PC, such as IP addresses and browser version, may be communicated to StatCounter, Inc. Security
We want to provide a safe and secure experience to our site users. The Center for Wilderness Safety uses customary and commercially reasonable security measures to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the data under its control.
