Volunteer as a First Aider
The on-call special event First Aid Support Team (FAST) program offers logistical and safety support during special events that take place in the Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington DC areas only.
These teams are comprised of between one and four team leaders (leads) who work closely with FAST volunteers and external event vendors to assure the health and safety of the patrons and staff of the event. Scheduling may vary and may include some weekend hours and occasional evening shifts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide emergency medical services, including helping with the setup, tear-down and staffing of any and all first aid stations. |

Support safety & security functions by providing medical coverage and assist with evacuation in the event of an emergency. |

Other related duties as assigned. |
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• |
Must be at least 18 years old. |
 |
• |
Must hold current First Aid and CPR/AED certification; higher certification is preferred. |
 |
• |
Experience in performing first aid or field experience in emergency medicine. |
 |
• |
Ability to work well with others, take directions and use good judgment. |
 |
• |
Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. |
 |
• |
Ability to comprehend and fluently speak English. Also fluency in Spanish is a plus. |
 |
• |
Ability to work under pressure. |
 |
• |
Availability and willingness to work weekends, evenings and sometimes early mornings. |
