First Aid Merit Badge

Earn the First Aid Merit Badge in just ONE (very full) DAY! Center for Wilderness Safety is proud to once again be offering the First Aid Merit Badge program — an Eagle required merit badge!

Throughout the year, CWS will  offering several opportunities to earn in the merit badge in conjunction with several Boy Scout troops in the Northern Virginia area. And each course, being taught by Eagle Scouts who are registered merit badge counselors with the National Capital Area Council, BSA!

This class will be taught by some of our local Council’s most experienced medical professionals. It is limited to the first 30 participants to sign up.

In order for scouts to complete this merit badge, all scouts MUST have all first aid requirements already completed for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks. Scouts should also come prepared with a first aid kit for your home (display and discuss its contents with your counselor).

Scouts that have not completed the first aid related requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class and First Class rank may still attend, but will NOT earn the merit badge that day. Please read the requirements, below, before registering for this course. We *do* offer a First Aid Merit Badge Workbook (in Adobe PDF format; linked below) that we strongly recommend Scouts download, print, and complete as much of as possible BEFORE attending class. CWS does NOT issue merit badge Blue Cards, as this is the responsibility of the Troop or District.

This course is typically scheduled on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) from 8am–4pm
with a one hour break for lunch from 12pm–1pm. Lunch is NOT provided.

Parents are Encouraged to Stay for class and learn along with the Scouts; HOWEVER,
the course is NOT Open to any non-Scouting adults or youth (Sorry, BSA rules & regs).
