First Aid Merit Badge
Scouts can COMPLETE the entire First Aid Merit Badge in just one day!
This class is taught by some of our local Council's most experienced medical professionals (who are also Eagle Scouts themselves), and is limited to the first 30 participants to sign up. Scouts should have all first aid requirements already completed for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks in order to participate - however this is not required as we do cover these requirements in class.
IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE MERIT BADGE: Scouts will need to come prepared with a BSA-approved first aid kit for your home to display and discuss its contents with the counselor. For Scouts who need one (and not a junk first aid kit from Target, for example), we offer a BSA-approved first aid kit for just $14.99, available here.
This course is typically scheduled on a weekend (Saturday or Sunday) from 8 am - 5 pm with a one-hour break for lunch from 12 pm - 1 pm. Lunch is NOT provided. Parents are encouraged to stay for class and learn along with the Scouts - HOWEVER, the course is not open to any non-Scouting adults or youth (Sorry, BSA rules & regs apply).

Want to Host a First Aid Merit Badge Class at Your Location?
The minimum number of Scouts required to host a first aid merit badge class is 12, and the maximum is typically 30-40 Scouts. We do require at least 30 days lead time. This course is currently only offered in Northern Virginia and nearby surrounding areas including Washington DC and parts of Maryland.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts about Scouting Programs.

Are there any classes to help with the First Aid merit badge this summer?
Hi, Maggie! YES! We just added one in September in Herndon, VA! 😀
I love this.
What can not be covered in the class?
Requirements 2D & 7 cannot be done in class, although requirement 2D can be made at home and brought in to class to get it signed off. Requirement 7 requires that the Scout teach another Scout a first aid skill learned in class.
Hi, will you be offering another class anytime soon?
If a Troop or District would like to host a course, they are welcome to host one – however we do not offer this course without a Scout unit sponsoring it.
